Three consortia have been shortlisted to bid on the Grandview Children’s Treatment Centre Redevelopment project on the eastern edge of the Greater Toronto Area.

Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Grandview Kids announced the narrow field of bidders for the upcoming building project earlier this month. Teams headed by EllisDon and Pomerleau are in the running, along with a joint venture between Amico Design Build Inc. and Sacyr Construction.

The redevelopment project centres on consolidating several locations currently in use by Grandview Kids into a new facility on a five-acre plot of land in Ajax. The purpose-built site will offer support for children and youth with physical, communication and developmental needs throughout Durham Region.

According to the latest P3 Market Update from IO this December, costs for the project are estimated at more than $200 million. The crown agency that oversees procurement on major projects across the province anticipates awarding the contract this fall.
